I’ve been looking at numbers and thinking about how to make the journalism I’m doing sustainable.
I’m writing to ask you to consider signing up to make monthly donations to support my work, if you’re not already doing it.
Currently, 76 of you make recurring donations. You’re giving an average of about $24 per month. If you’re on that list, thank you! I appreciate your consistent support, which helps me plan and budget.
I hope to get more of you on that list. I have a long-term goal of doubling my recurring donors to 150. For now, I’m setting an immediate goal of getting that number to 100.
That means I need another 24 of you to sign up!
You know my work. I’ve been covering Southern New Mexico for 28 years. I write with context and nuance you don’t often see from other sources. Who else has done as much journalism, for example, to help you make sense of Project Jupiter?
That deep reporting isn’t cheap. In addition to my time, it sometimes involves wear and tear on my vehicle and other equipment. Sometimes it requires public records requests.
A gift of $600, or $50 each month, funds one article. Even $15 each month helps. If you donate occasionally, would you consider switching to recurring support? You can sign up by clicking here.
If you’ve never donated, I really need your assistance. A recurring or one-time donation in any amount makes a difference. Again, you can give by clicking here.
Today begins my march to 100 recurring donors! Wish me luck. And thanks again for all your support.
